Terms of Use

Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using MetaTag, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue using the service.
Description of the Service
MetaTag is a browser-based collection of tools that helps developers, designers and website owners generate website metadata and related assets.
Generated content may include SEO meta tags, Open Graph tags, X Cards, canonical URLs, robots directives, browser appearance metadata, JSON-LD structured data, favicons, web app icons, HTML snippets and web app manifests.
The service is intended as a development aid and should not be considered legal, SEO, accessibility or professional consulting advice.
Local Processing
MetaTag is designed to perform its generation and file-processing operations locally in your browser.
Metadata entered into the generators and files selected for favicon generation are not intentionally uploaded to MetaTag servers. Processing behaviour may still depend on the browser, device, extensions and other software that you use.
Permitted Use
You may use MetaTag for personal, educational and commercial projects.
You may generate metadata and website assets for websites that you own or are authorized to create, edit or manage.
Uploaded and Processed Content
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights, licences and permissions to use any image, logo, artwork, trademark or other material that you process with MetaTag.
MetaTag does not claim ownership of the source materials that you select or provide.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- attempt to interfere with the availability, operation or security of the service;
- use MetaTag for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes;
- misrepresent generated metadata in a way intended to deceive users, search engines, browsers or online platforms;
- process or reproduce images, logos, artwork or other materials in violation of intellectual property, privacy or other applicable rights;
- use automated activity intended to overload, disrupt or damage the service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to bypass technical restrictions or gain unauthorized access to systems associated with the service.
Generated Output
MetaTag generates code and files based on the information and source materials that you provide.
Generated output may include metadata, structured data, HTML snippets, favicons, application icons, web app manifests, documentation snippets and downloadable archives.
You remain solely responsible for reviewing, testing and validating all generated output before publishing, distributing or otherwise using it.
You should verify file paths, URLs, image dimensions, manifest values, metadata values, structured data and platform-specific requirements before deployment.
Platform Compatibility
Search engines, browsers, operating systems, social media platforms, messaging services and installed web app environments may interpret, crop, modify, cache or display generated output differently.
MetaTag does not guarantee search rankings, indexing, rich results, social preview appearance, favicon appearance, application installation behaviour or compatibility with every platform, browser, operating system or device.
Availability and Changes
MetaTag is provided on an “as available” basis.
The service, its tools, available output formats and individual features may be updated, modified, temporarily unavailable or permanently discontinued without prior notice.
Intellectual Property
The MetaTag website, interface, branding, documentation and original source code remain protected by applicable intellectual property laws unless stated otherwise.
You may use metadata, code and asset files generated from your own input for personal, educational and commercial projects.
This permission does not grant you rights to source images, logos, trademarks or other materials that belong to third parties.
Third-Party Standards and Services
MetaTag may generate output based on formats, specifications or conventions used by third parties, including browsers, search engines, social platforms and Schema.org.
References to third-party platforms, formats or trademarks do not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.
Third parties may change their requirements or stop supporting particular metadata, files or behaviours at any time.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MetaTag is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
This includes warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, compatibility and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MetaTag and its owner shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or similar damages arising from or related to the use of the service or generated output.
This includes loss of data, loss of revenue, search visibility issues, incorrect previews, deployment problems, incompatible files or claims relating to materials supplied by a user.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to MetaTag, applicable practices or legal requirements.
The updated date shown at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were most recently revised. Continued use of MetaTag after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.
